Water NSW Koala Crossings
About this project
The NSW Government has committed $80 million to safeguard koalas in Sydney’s Southwest.
This investment is part of a broader koala strategy focused on protecting and creating habitat and improving the safety and health of one of Australia’s most iconic species.
RARE was engaged to construct and install a crossing over the NSW Water’s heritage listed pipeline. Underfence crossings were also constructed and installed to allow koalas safe passage across fragmented landscapes – a crucial step toward ensuring their long-term survival.
