Sydney Airport UST Removal
About this project
Sydney Airport authority wished to upgrade the central services buildings diesel fuel storage facility. The scope included pre-work submittals, transfer of remaining fuel to temporary storage vessels, hazmat removal, demolition of buildings, awnings, concrete slabs and paving. The decommissioning of 5 underground diesel storage tanks with the capacity of 45,000 litres for each tank.
Removal of associated vents, bowsers and filling points of all tanks. One 45kl and one 2kl tank were decommissioned in-situ via filling the voids with structural grout.
Airside decommissioning and removal of 3 x 10,000 litre underground diesel storage tanks was also completed as part of the project. Which required detailed planning, specialised authorisation and security clearances to complete the works.
